BashoCam

In the project BashoCam (basho for "location" and "bashment"), remote friends can engage in a collaborative performance with networked still cameras by contributing to rhythmical loops of photographs taken on the spot. As the loops spread through differents paths in people's social networks, different picture narratives unfold. The aim of the project is to enable a new type of sharing of personal moments between friends at different locations, combining the evocative qualities of photography with the collaborative aspect of networked performances. We have implemented a fully working prototype running on PDAs.
