I am the Research Director of the Viktoria Institute and manage the Open Vehicle group. I am also an Adjunct Professor at the informatics department at University of Oslo where I work in the Global Infrastructure group. My current research interests include digital innovation, innovation management, organizational adaptation of IT, as well as process and design-oriented research methodologies. At the Viktoria Institute, I pursue these interests by researching open software platforms, telematics, and nomadic device integration in the automotive industry.

I hold a Ph.D. in Informatics from Umeå University (since 1999). I currently serve as a Senior Editor of the MIS Quarterly. I also serve on the editorial boards of Information Technology & People and Journal of the AIS. I was formerly an editor at the Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems (2000-2006) and I now serve on the advisory board. My research has been published in DATA BASE, Information Systems Journal, Information Technology & People, Information and Organization, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, MIS Quarterly and other journals in the information systems discipline.
