Dr. Raul Carlson is assigned scientific reviewer for International Journal of Life Cycle Assesment

Dr Raul Carlson, Senior Resarcher at Sustainable Transport group at Viktoria Institute has received the honor of being scientific peer reviewer of the highly ranked International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment.

Life cycle assessment is a technique to analyse the full life cycle environmental impact of products and services. Dr. Carlson has since the mid 1990s acquired a practical and theoretical expertise in developing relevant and business oriented applications of life cycle assessment for industry, business and society. In 2009 he also received an award for the authoring of the Swedish handbook for the standards in the ISO 14040-series, i.e. the ISO standards for Life cycle assessment.

Dr. Raul Carlson has a specific focus towards the information and data aspects of life cycle assessment, with an expertise ranging from designing databases, calculation tools, data presentation designs, electronic data solutions and many other methods, tools and solutions. He made his PhD on the subject of industrial environmental information ystems and participates in the international ISO standardisation on these subjects within the ISO/TC 207 Environmental management standards. Dr. Carlson was also project manager for the setting up of the first national life cycle assesssmnent database for industrial and academic use, the Swedish national database at Chalmers university of technology, which was published at Internet to work et the end of 1996. Dr. Carlson have also given several international courses on LCA according to ISO.
