The
mechanical and optical
constraints specific to analogue cameras have disappeared with the
advent of digital technology but still limit the way we conceive
photography. This project aims at taking digital photography to the next
level by developing new types of physical interactions with cameras, of
visual representation, and of hybrid picture-viewing.
In Context Photography f.ex.,
a
still camera captures
the invisible
context of a scene with sensors and
translates it visually into the resulting picture, as you are
taking it.
In BashoCam (basho for
'location' and 'bashment'), friends engage in a dislocated and
networked performance with loops of rhythmical photographs.
