RISE moves its headquarters to Gothenburg

18 May, 2016 - 16:00

May 18, 2016, RISE’s board announced that the group’s new headquarters will be located in Gothenburg. Pia Sandvik, Chairperson of RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, gave the following statement:

– The management of the new RISE is moving closer to its clients, operations and co-workers. Western Sweden is one of the country’s most important industrial and research clusters and, with over 1100 employees in the region, it is only natural for the new RISE to establish its headquarters in Gothenburg. The board feels that the moving of the headquarters will create the best possible conditions for the new RISE to continue to grow and become an even stronger and more competitive player in the Swedish innovation system.

A decision regarding the precise date of the move and the specifics of the new address is expected to be made during Autumn 2016. All permanent employees of RISE’s parent company in Stockholm will be given the opportunity to continue to work within RISE.

The moving of RISE’s headquarters from Stockholm to Gothenburg is part of the process of establishing a new organisational structure for RISE and forming a unified research institute. RISE announced in April 2016 that the government owned holding company RISE AB will take over the industrial co-owners’ shares of Swedish ICT and Innventia, and together with SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden form a unified research institute with the aim of further strengthening RISE’s ability to grow and develop as a research and innovation partner.

It was also announced at this time that Pia Sandvik had been appointed as Managing Director, and will commence work on July 1, 2016, in order to strengthen RISE’s executive management and further prepare the company for the next stage of its development.
