Boundary Conditions for Vehicle Automation

The project vision is to “Create the cooperative arena that puts Sweden in a lead position in the area of Automated Driving”

This SAFER project, managed by Viktoria Swedish ICT, involves the partners Scania, Volvo Cars, SP and AB Volvo in collaboration with Chalmers, KTH, Linköping University and Halmstad Högskola. The project time span is currently from April 2013 until December 2014 with the ambition to expand the planning horizon for an additional 3 years.

The project acts as an idea generator for research, in collaboration between manufacturers, universities and institutes. Focus for research is in the area where the partners share a common interest in collaborative research such as standards for test & verification, legal aspects of automated vehicles, road infrastructure requirements, V2X communication, and many more.

The target is to explore and generate relevant research questions that can be subject to new research projects involving industry and academia.
